それでは、なぜ英辞郎でslashが「打つ」になっているのでしょうか。文中のslashing .300/.344/.700の数字は、順に打率・出塁率・長打率です。それぞれの数字は、斜線すなわち英語で言うslashで区切られています。そして、このような形でこの三つの数字を表記することをslash lineと言います。
