意味：
英辞郎によると、

1. ～の間違った側に、～の不利な側に、～の反対側に、～の悪い方に属して
2. （人）に嫌われて
3. 〔年齢が〕～の坂を越えて

上記の三つの訳でわかるように対象によって意味が違います。
On the wrong side ofの反対の意味でon the right side ofということができます。また、イディオムの他に、直訳として「誤った側」「正しい側」という意味になります。
さらに人を対象とした場合、on the wrong side of ~ と同じ意味でon (someone's) right sideという言い方もできます。
