そもそもtake a kneeは、アメリカンブットボールの用語で、勝っているチームが残り時間を経過させるために使う作戦です。簡単にいうと、ボールを受け取ったクォータバック(QB)が、すぐに片膝をついてプレイを止め、試合時間だけを経過させる作戦。
