下記英語の定義にあるように、ただの「長身でクールなやつ」ではなく、背が高くて魅力的な人をいいます。もともと、男性に使われていましたが、今では問題文のように女性に使うこともあります。
違う用法として、long drink of waterの他にtall glass of waterともいいます。
