そんなトランプ氏の意味不明な発言を、メディアが整形し、ニュースのパターンにはめ込むことで、その逸脱ぶりを有権者の目から覆い隠す「正気の偽装（sanewashing）」を行っている、との指摘がメディア関係者から相次ぐ。

以前、当サイトでwhitewashの訳を紹介しましたが、この場合は「白く塗り替える」のではなく「正気かのように塗り替える」ということになります。
