日本ではあまり聞かない現象のためか、英辞郎には掲載されていないので、Weblioで調べてみました。


ガスライティング
特定の人をターゲットとして、集団で付け回したり、ターゲットが妄想癖や精神的な欠点を持っていると思い込ませるような工作をするなどして、ターゲットを精神的に追い詰めていくこと。精神的虐待の一種とされる。

アメリカでは、トランプ大統領の台頭でとくに共和党との関連が強く主張されてる言葉です。
なお、動詞形はgaslight/gaslightedです。
